    Hi there,

Even it is mentioned that the internal scsi-controller of the A4000T should work, I can't mount anything from the controller (scsi.device not found).

Could I extract the scsi.device from the kickrom and put it into the devs drawer to use it via a mountlist?

Did you use a real 'image' of your kickstart, or did you use the 'FakeRom' one ?

I use the real kick 40.070 from the A4000T. Floppy support does work, but not scsi.

Same here, the internal SCSI never worked.

The A4000t scsi device inside morphos "should" work
but it wasn't tested for a long time...
I assume it's only a HW detection problem and not
a problem of the device itself.

Please boot with your rom kickstart, so remove this
    <nokickstart> startup parameter.

please check with <c:devlist> if scsi.device is
    there.

if not, please do a <c:modlist> to check if your
kickstart has a workbench.library, as the MorphOS
A4000T detection only works through checking
for a not existing workbench.library in the rom.

Further informations can be retrieved through
    EDebugFlags="Init InitResident" and capturing
the output with ramdebug or serial.

    devlist gives following results:

address version rev opencnt flags name
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    0x08037D70 50 3 1 0x4 gameport.device
    0x08040BDC 50 11 30 0x4 timer.device
    0x080433A8 50 6 2 0x4 keyboard.device
    0x0804C3AC 50 26 7 0x4 input.device
    0x08055BC0 50 4 0 0x4 ramdrive.device
    0x08056110 40 1 3 0x4 trackdisk.device
    0x080685F0 50 11 8 0x4 console.device
    0x08072B04 50 21 0 0x24 scsi.device
    0x08072018 50 21 1 0x4 A4000/A1200 ATAPI Driver
    0x0807D5B4 50 18 5 0x4 cybppc.device
    0x085D3118 39 7 0 0x4 printer.device

scsi.device is there, but I can't open scsi.device at ID4 (my CD-ROM) and also my HDs don't show up.

Could this be due to the ffs on the HD at the A4000T_scsi-controller?

no..has nothing to do with rdb.
The MorphOS scsi.device is obviously there.
Please try the debugging options and make a log.

Hum, are you sure to have the good kickstart for A4000T ?
Because A4000D don't have SCSI hardware, but a SCSI.Device that manage the IDE Hardware...
What is the Scsi chip version and revision on your mobo ?

Well, the log shows that the morphos a4000t ncr device isn't initialized, so the board detection fails
for some unknown reason. The source part there
    looks at least ok.

That means the device is there but the controller couldn't be
found? Any suggestions for a work around?

I was able to get this to work by moving the workbench.library out of boot/extmodules. Before this I had the same results as you. Now, all of my SCSI and IDE drives work except for CD-ROM. Almost there!

*edit* SCSI CD-ROM works now too. I must have been trying to use a coaster instead of a CD earlier...

    Yes. yes. yes. :-) :-)

Removing the workbench.library cured the scsi problem.

    A4000T scsi.device now working

    Thanx a lot "failure"
