    Okay, it's been a while since I've given a public status update on the status of MorphZone. So, without further adue, heres a list of things happening behind the scenes for the site:

    1. this weekend, our host, ZiaSpace, are going to install a G4 2GHz accl card into the machine we're running on. Let's hope that will speed things up a bit.

    2. There has been discussion with one of our members here to set up a file-mirror, that may yet turn into a nifty aminet interface and MorphOS specific file repository. The purpose would be to get many of the files off of MZ to reduce the load, eliminate some of the duplicate entries between here and the Aminet, and to allow MZ's in-house file area to concentrate on the bounty software.

    3. Mirrors. MZ is working to get some mirrors up and running. More details when we have more information on this, but we definately want to run some mirrors!

    mm the new MorphZone logo is just so.... Genesic !
    what's the reason for putting such a big Genesi logo on it ? Does MorphZone belongs to Genesi ? i thought it was independant.

    @SoundSquare

    Then you thought wrong, Genesi has always been involved. But most of all, I think this site is the result of Targhans hard work and the posts from the users! And I guess it's a good judgement that you during all this time has *believed* it to "independant"; that kind of suggests that it actually is, in *practice*, doesn't it? ;-)
    MorphOS is Amiga done right! :-)
    MorphOS NG will be AROS done right! :-)

    Targhan,

    2GHz G4 accelerator sounds interesting.
    I did not know that these things are available.

    I assume the server where morpohzone is running on serves a few hundred other websites too, doesn't it?
    Its not morphzone alone running on this machine?

    Do you know what the main bottle neck is why morphzone is so slow? Is it the database or is the machine swapping?

    Cheers
    Gunnar
