    ...that you can scroll window contents by holding down the middle mouse button, or by clicking it twice you get a small navigation tool, which lets you move around at great speeds?

    --edit--

    Is the current list of hints available somewhere? Just in case, not to post something which is already there. Not that I looked for it that much :-) But there is no link in Did you know...

    Double clicked middle mouse button (as I have already mentioned) is reserved for the navigation tool, which is a rather cool thing IMO. I use triple middle mouse click to swap screens :-) (and my natural keyboard has a button in the middle along with the second tab and enter with a mouse on it, so I assigned it to screen switch as well :-))

    @warface:

    we don't have much yet, just the screenmenu, windowmenu, resetting of mui prefs, uptime command, md5sum and version in information window, 3rd mouse scrolling in ambinet (your hint), tooltype deactivation by doubleclick and saveing prefs for a single page in systemprefs.

    So we have enough space for a lot more MorphOS related tips and hints. :-)

    Setting: 'System Settings -> IControl -> Window Under Mouse Pointer: Activate' to 'mouse_rightpress' with 'Do not swallow event' ticked, creates context sensitive system-menus.

    It activates the window you right-click over rather than having to left-click it first, which I found annoying.

    For instance, say you where running a text editor and then a track comes on your mp3 player you hate, so you click the skip button. If you then went back to you're text editor and tried to right click over the some selected text in your text-ed you would get the mp3 players menus popping up instead.

    In that case you would have to left-click the text editor's drag-bar and then right-click over the text.

    With right-click activate setup, you just right-click and the widow is activated for you.

    thanks for the tip

    Settings->System Settings
    IControl->Misc->Border click = Dragging
    to move Windows at all 4 sides

    if Offscreen windows is active and you do not want to go offscreen
    with the window, hold Strg while you move the window.

    Here some USB releated tips, especially usefull for MAME (and other Games) but perhaps interessting for MorphOS too.

    1. Make sure you updated Poseidon to the latest Version, get it here: http://www.platon42.de/poseidon.html

    2.Now you are able to assign different actions to your usb devices. You have a Multimedia Keyboard? Use your Navigations Buttons with Ibrowse or your Mail Button with yam etc.
    But as this tipp is menat for mame, here we go ;-)

    Select your USB Pad in Ambient Settings -> USB -> Devices
    Select Settings
    Now there should be a allready pre configured USB Pad, Very Usefull because for the Moment, full Lowlevel.lib support is only provided through Poseidon (meaning that every Button and not just four are supported)
    For Mame I have one button configured with an "ok" Keystring you know for mame it is neccessary to confirm the game start with "ok" via Keyboard. Naa, we want a single button klick, therefore we decide which button we want to use, now enable "Track incoming event" and press your button. Now you can configure this button.
    Add a New Entry with "new" In the actions tab select "Keystring" as Trigger select "down" (if you don`t you end in continous ok input ;-) )
    then enter just the letters o and k
    simple eh?
    Now confirm with use and save your settings.. Voila You have now just one button to press to launch your mame game.
    BTW the same works for things like Inset coins and player select (5 and 1)

    ah, and for screen cycling, I prefer cycling with the 4th MousButton from my USB Mouse, and Ambient to front with the 5th :-D

    all hints are added. But to make us a bit less work, please submit your tips in "Did you know that .... ?" format and try to use the official names for the things:

    e.g.
    LMOS -> lcommand
    Strg -> control
    window -> Window

    etc. This will help us and your hint will be added a lot faster. :-D

    regards,
    tokai

    Tokai:
    Well you are right, but i while i wrote it, i was not aware how long it got :-D

    Perhaps something like

    Did you know that you are able to fully configure your USB Multimedia Keyboards or USB Pads if you update to the latest Poseidon Archiv?

    But then this might be obsolete with MOS 1.5
