    Protracker - That sounds awesome!

I saw some screenshots of Digibooster pro, but is the morphOs-version ready?

Which trackers are currently avalible for MOS?

Seeing the screenshot, it doesn't look like it has separate
vol/pan/effects in each track such as digibooster pro.

Well you really think 8-bit FIR filter will give you perfect
resampling quality? What S/N ratio do you expect after interpolation?
    20 dB?

Seeing the screenshot, I expect nothing. But since we have nothing on MOS, any tracker would be highly appreciated (and judging from the Digibooster site + forum, it might be a while before they got that one ported :-( ). Besides, I always have found the replay inside the tracker of lesser importance; that's where we have modplayers for ;-)

A tracker without a good replay routine is practically dead. If the tracker's own routine is buggy and sounds terrible, what do you use as a reference when you code players for its format?

(I know this problem, i also s#?cked with FT2's replay bugs, when i coded my own player, which will be shortly available for MOS as well. Just after i finished my FPC port. :-D )

;-) Nah, I was more speaking in terms of replay-quality (see Krashan's reply -> in an external player you could always bump the interpolation if you'ld like); obviously the routine should be bugfree.

Though I started in the '90's making mods, and only used Protracker, Octamed, Fasttracker and Digibooster pro, I've made a few and I do agree that Protracker 2.3b had the most functional interface. Then again, I rather used PT 3.15 - 4.0, because it combined funtionality with a more user-friendly interface. Shame development stopped before they got the ps3m replayer to work.

The interface of DBpro was nice but a bit unhandy, the interface of octamed (ss)...well, what interface ( ;-) ) and the interface of FT2 was just silly (but it must have looked like heaven to the poor screamtracker users ;-). The screenshot of "ProtrackerII"...it makes me think of candy.

I switched from PT 2.3 to the 4.0b y2k fixed, and that's what I still use on my Amiga the few times when I do some tracking. I think it has a very good and easy interface. PT II looks more like old PT2.3, but I hope they at least tone down the colours a bit. It's nice with eyecandy in the beginning, but when you've sat a whole day staring at it, you wish for more moderate colours =)

Electro: Orion (Synapse Audio) could be possible... But I doubt this current user base is enough for any commercial product.
