    Hi,

I installed OpenBSD and MorphOS on my PEG2. Is there a possibility to make aliases in OpenFirmware? I want to make something like that:

    alias bsd "boot /pci/scsi@5/disk@0,0:0 /bsd/ofwboot"

so that i can boot into OpenBSD with just typing in "bsd" or "boot bsd". I do not want to change my default boot option which is MOS.

    Thanx

    Thanks.

It is not recommended to play with OF settings on your Pegasos. Genesi cannot be responsible for damadges resulting..

You can alias devices like the hard disk, so it could be as simple as:

    "boot /bsd /bsd/ofwboot"

.. look in the manual, or the old MorphOS-News install guide.

You can always play around with the firmeware/bios until the computer doesn't boot any longer ;-), independent of kind of computer... :-)

Does the Pegs have a Jumper for a Firmware-Settings-Reset like every "normal" Mainboard?

The statement i made wasnt an "official" one. Just saying that if people start messing with the OF and not know what they are doing they can render the peg useless.. so.. dont poke your nose where it doesnt belong... unless you know your stuff. :)

    Not what I know about.

However if you have destroyed the firmware, you have to reprogram independent of firmware or motherboard.

And of course we could ask for more opportunitys in the open firmware for the Pegasos, where its possible to control more things then whats possible right now.

I would like to say, be careful, and read manuals before playing around to much.

    Btw, isn't the Pegasos a normal computer ? :-o
