Have an issue with my Mac Mini G4 and could do with some feedback on this from other Mini G4 owners perhaps ?

The plastic around the power button on the rear of my recently acquired Mini G4 is now "lose".. able to be pushed in more then the rest of the rear plastic and creaks when doing so when the plastic near the power button is pressed or the power button itself is pushed.

This seemed to happen out of the blue on pressing the power button one time yesterday. I did not as far as I know push the power button *that* hard. Just pushed the button one time, heard a plastic creak noise that id not heard before.

From what I can tell from pictures of the internals there are no plastic clips to break or anything holding the rear plastic in place so I cant work out what has happened here ?

Powerbutton is fixed to rear side of bottom housing with small plastic "domes" (afaik), which are melted on top to fix it '(like riveted bolts).

Think, they are brocken in your case. There is no spare part for this.
You may fix this, glueing the rest of plastics to bottom housing....

Pushing the power button or indeed any of the plastic surrounding it in the red square causes the plastic in that corner to flex somewhat as i push it and audibly creak.

The opposite corner where the lock slot is does not do this.

Ok, thats a part of the whole rear panel, you cracked. You can only glue it at crack-lines and the metalic grid behind.
Dismount your Mini and you will see what I mean.

Or you buy complete bottom-housing.....

Yeah I am going to see about opening it up to have a look and see if it is cracked or something is damaged on that side regarding the plastics.
