Could someone explain me rules of MorphOS behaviour after close lid of PowerBookG4? In previous versions of MorphOS if I closed lid, PowerBook was turned off immediately. In MorphOS 3.12 if I close and open the lid, MorphOS still is opened and everything works. However yesterday I closed lid and open it after a few minutes - PowerBook was turned off.

When does PowerBook with closed lid is turned off? Does kind of power (battery or charger) affect to rules of turning off?

That was never the case. Only the backlight was turned off to avoid overheating the mobo. PowerBook is not really designed to operate with a lid closed. So if it switched off for you, it likely means it shut down due to overheat.

So MorphOS does not trigger shut down hardware when lid is closed for several minutes?

I checked it today. If I close lid when PowerBook is not connected to charger (uses only battery), MorphOS works. However after several minutes PowerBook is turned off. I will check the time and compare with sleep time in MorphOS Preferences.

Maybe it's just your battery then? :) I'm quite sure there's no shutdown trigger related to the lid state.

FYI, I have this behavior too. It is the case since the first MorphOS version for PowerBook. After a few minutes, the PowerBook shut down and there is no noticable overheat (temperature is normal just before shutdown).

It would be helpful if you could list the exact models you have.

Same model and behaviour here. About 6 minutes after closing lid PB went off. Battery was at 41% when closing lid and 39% when powered on later.
