Peg2 wont Boot

    M0rn guys!

    Got my Peg2 up now (im typing this on it) but for some reason it wont find or boot from my HD before i have booted from the CD once! this happen everytime i turn it on/off! am i missing something? :-).

    are you useing "boot hd boot.img ramdebug"? If you are I had the same issue and had to change to using the boot instructions in the readme file on the root of the cd. This fixed my issue.

    Yep, I have this issue too - apparently others have had it (see the
    Pegasos II Problems thread).

    You don't need to boot from CD as a workaround though - just use the
    reset button once after switching on, to soft reset before attempting
    a boot. Make sure the OpenFirmware has run through once first, before
    resetting.

    I would really like a permanent fix for this too, if anyone has one..?

    Otherwise, I suppose we'll have to wait for the next firmware update
    :-(

    Try 'boot hd:0 boot.img' , that's what works on my peg2.

    The IDE detection code is failing to detect your hard drive at power on/hard reset. I had the same problem on my Peg I with later (beta) version of the firmware and an IBM Deskstar 75GXP drive...if I were you, I'd report it as a bug to the powers that be.
