Administrator, I like to ask your input for the following.
There are some strict rules on this forum concerning hardware adverts
on morph.zone I like to follow those rules. Nevertheless I have the
idea that some members with for example a higher status for example "*** Butterfly"
are abusing their privileged user rights on the site to sell their own stuff.
Is that something that can be included in the rules as well to prevent these kind of
    practices?

    Thank you.

Which ones? If you're feeling uncomfortable when pointing out a specific user, you can always point a thread/message where some shady individual is "abusing their privileged user rights".

Odd. Where did you get that impression?
None of us, to the best of my knowledge, are "privileged".

And in what way has there been "abuse"?

As with your listing, we usually only sell items that we are no longer using.

Its not like anyone here is trying to generate a profit.

In directing this toward Andre, and at the same time slighting "privileged users", you seem to be insulting the person you are requesting information from.

    Hi Jim,

so now you decide for others that they should feel insulted?
If nobody wants to receive some money for their hardware, why then advert it?

ok Guys, reading all your answers in just 5 minutes of time, I get the picture.
I think the rules you make are not of use for the 'order'.

    Cheers.

    Well, now I'm insulted...hmm, odd.
    What 'order' do you perceive?

And do you also believe in the planet Nibiru?

Admnistrators and moderators are not omniscient beings. If something is wrong, feel free to report it so they are aware.

Please note that chances are low that anybody will engage in guessing games based on fuzzy allegations.

I happened to see that you bumped your sales ad twice in a single day. I edited a previous post from the other day with new information, as requested by our ad rules, and created a new discussion thread with your allegations against the staff in our dedicated MorphZone forum.

    Good luck with your sale.

eeeehhhh....... Well, Jim I dunno.....ehhhh.... the "order of the butterfly" for example?

Ha,ha you are so funny in posting, you should work for 'New York Times' or another paper.

What does this exactly mean? "Never attribute to malice what can more readily explained by incompetence"

If you need help , there are some medicines for that problem you know ?
You can buy them in any american drugstore. I believe it is called 'Viagra'
It is a pity you don't speak any civilised Europian language, I would be able to explain
you your problem better. Maybe try to translate this one in an online translator.
"Jullie neuken elkaar in je reet!' It's dutch. I think you would like it.

for the moment I am finished with all of this. I'm feeling sick.

    Good luck!

So much for the Dutch being civilized.

Andre, I'm not even going to complain about this one.

Please leave it up, at least we'll have one poster who is more unpleasant than me.

Although, I would like clarification, this all started because he bumped his sales notice up a few times?

It means that crazy paranoid people who see conspiracies in everything around them fail to see that incompetence is usually the reason for what they perceive.

    Cannabis is a wonderful antiemetic.

It also produces paranoia in some individuals.............

    Thanks Nik,

    Weird stuff, eh?
BTW, sorry about the over the top BS earlier.

Finals today, I'm a little stressed.
And I'm not sure I don't despise the US on most days myself (we've got an easily despised president after all).

Cannabis does sound like a good idea at the end of the day, just because I don't drink very often doesn't mean I've given up everything...

To me it seems more like he draws a clear line between administrator and "privileged users" (whatever their alleged privilege might be, it‘s not administrating at least), and rightfully so.

I didn't quite get that, as there are no "privileged" users, and apparently he was upset over Andre's moving and editing of his posts.

DO any of us get special treatment?

I haven't seen any "privileged users" here, then again, I've never seen a leprechaun or a unicorn before either, some say they exist.

    The way I see it:
The administrator’s privilege is to make the rules.
The moderators’ privilege is to enforce these rules.
The users‘ mere privilege is to abide by these rules.

    :-)

Me neither. I was just going by his (apparently skewed) view of the matter. But then, I think MorphZone could get rid of these silly ranks as they serve no purpose.

    > apparently he was upset over Andre's moving and editing of his posts.

Might be. I‘m still not sure what this all is about in particular :-)

    So we are ALL privileged!Thanks.

And I try to abide by the rules most of the time.
I've never really thought about Andre as a mod or admin, although he is.
Actually he's a member of the development team that's willing to devote his time to this site.

So whatever my differences with him, I'm not going to blow him off in public.

And things are pretty informal here, so the entire "hey administrator" thing kind of threw me off balance.

Just for future reference, I greatly prefer to be insulted in public so the world can bear witness.

I fail to understand how doing so in private would be better.

OK Andre, the next time I abuse you (which isn't likely to occur now that I know you better) I'll post it.
That way I can make myself look like an ass. Ok?

Speaking of abuse, I think that was the first time I have ever been told to do that in Dutch.

I'm not sure, but the first thing that occurred to me is if that has to occur in public can I at least charge admission?
