I have a "silent upgrade" Mac Mini G4 for sale.

    Features:

    - PowerPC G4 (7447a) processor at 1,5 GHz
    - Radeon 9200 with 64 MB of VRAM
    - 1 GB of DDR 400 (PC3200) RAM (maximum for this model)
    - 160 GB 2,5" harddrive
    - Airport and Bluetooth built in
    - original power supply and power cord (european plug), and DVI to D-SUB adapter
    - MorphOS 3.9 installed (not registered)

in original cartoon box, with original styrofoam inserts (as seen on photos)

Now the downsides: The combo drive is pretty much dead. I couldn't get it to work despite cleaning. Swallows the CD/DVD, spins for a moment and then spits it out.

The photo gallery of the computer is here.

I'm asking for 50 EUR plus shipping (within Europe it would be maximum 15 EUR, as the size and weight allow sending by regular mail package).

    EDIT: Sold, thanks.

You know you can fit a new DVD-RW DL drive, it's quite simple, but if you've already installed Mac OS X as Dual-Boot it will nullify the installation if you don't fit the exact same model of drive, as when Mac OS X installs the OS it also installs the specific firmware for the DVD drive as well.

I bought a few spare drives for my own systems, for such eventualities in the future, as it seemed to make good sense.

The heads can often be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a very fine and very light (not heavy) piece of fabric - something lint-free, but if the disc or something else has 'scored'/marked the DVD reading/writing lens then it's probably useless - if you've got a good magnifying lens, like a jewellers eyepiece/loupe then you can usually see if it's beyond cleaning.

Interesting. Is this documented anywhere or found out purely from own experience?

My own experiences, specifically with Mac OS X and PowerBooks, which I can only presume is the same with Mac Minis, as the installation of Mac OS X is based around the same script.
