I've had a few different ASUS notebooks and they are well made, affordable and well supported.

Just setting up a Thinkpad Edge 15" with Windows 7 for my stepson and it's very sturdy. Can't complain about the build quality at all.
    1.67GHz 15" PowerBook G4, 1GB RAM, 128MB Radeon 9700M Pro, 64GB SSD, MorphOS 3.9

    2.7GHz DP G5, 4GB RAM, 512MB Radeon X1950 Pro, OSX 10.5.8, 500GB SSHD, MorphOS 3.9

Morphos x64 should be amiga graphics and gui on top of unix.
Morphos x64 should run on any pc.
It is not too late, to make something worth of use instead of second AROS.

    Go away, please.
    This is never happening.
And what you suggest is far closer to AROS than you realize.
AROS hosted can run on top of Linux (which is similar to UNIX), some variants of BSD (which IS UNIX) can run Linux binaries, so an AROS implementation on top of UNIX (or a UNIX-like OS) is already a possibility.

MorphOS X64 is going to remain entirely MorphOS, from the kernel up.
That HAS been decided, it IS too late to do something as foolish as you suggest.

AND, your repeated posting of this nonsense isn't going to change that.

I LIKE what I am using now, I WILL like what is being proposed, and I have NO interest in your proposed idea.

Finally, this is a HARDWARE thread, and NOTHING in your posted addresses the topic, so please...
    Just...go...away.

    @Jim

    Your doing it wrong.

Just tell him about the super secret dev meeting where it was decided that MorphOS3.10 will exclusively run Vampire equiped Amigas.

    (hence the delay)

Shh! You're not supposed to reveal that. ;-)

I just searched a 2017 laptop, Lenovo ideapad a12 apu, then noticed Ryzen pro mobile processors are due ~q1 2018
PC market is always such a volatile mess, how could anyone decide to standardize on just one ? Glad it's not my headache at least 😅
    Windows 10? Think again!

When we are talking about our dreams, I really would love to have something, like this:http://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/flex-series/Lenovo-ideapad-FLEX-4-1470/p/88IP8FX0685

This tablet/notebook design is really cool. It isn't the cheapest one, but still ok. These modells are available with Radeon graphics too.

This intel card computer suggestion was not my dream hardware, but rather a pragmatic one: Cheap ubiquotous hardware with - probably - a not too fast life cycle and standarized compounds.

If this device is a cheap one (also with extensions), than it is ok for me. ;)
The idea/design is cool. I'm not sure about its performance.

Yes, I'm looking forward to those.
Right now, I find Intel built-in gpus to be insufficient.
That only leave discreet gpus as an option, so maybe AMD will offer an alternative.

And it will be interesting to see what gpus they incorporate, whether its a current product or a Vega based system.

The question is not what is the most powerfull machine to support but what machine is easier to support.
Supporting a laptop is a great amount of work so one laptop type should be a good start and they extend to a bigger range of standard motherboard.
Sure the easier way is to have morphos on top of a linux kernel like the quark kernel (not as os, just for hardware abstraction layer) but i don't know if it's the good way for Morphos team. I think they will choose a smarter kernel QUARK again? not sure...
