    Hi there!

I recently bought a SSD and installed it into my powerbook. When i try to boot, i now get a grey screen with the following message:

MAC-PARTS: specified MAC partition is not valid can't open: hd:3,\\bootinfo.txt
    Can't open device or file

If write mac-boot and presses enter i boot into morphOS.

However, how do i get the machine to boot into morphOS directly? (both my old setups did this correcly)

I used a clean installation, and iwizard made a boot-partition and a system partition.

    1) is there a step by step description on how to fix this?
    2) when i look at my other powerbook, i can see that it has got a couple of small, empty partitions of 128mb of size, on each side of the boot-partition.. is this needed on the new harddisk-setup as well?

Hopefully some of you experts are able to help me out :)

    best regards
    Torgeir

    Try command dir (Openfirmware)

    dir hd:1,\
    and
    dir hd:2,\

if you see files on SSD that change number on the right on boot-device (hd:3)

    Hi there!

Yikes - i noticed one year ago that i found the solution for this, but now i'm stucked on the same problem (i'm not getting any younger, so i guess that is why i forgot the solution).

I'm setting up one of my powerbooks with a new ssd - it once again says:

MAC-PARTS: specified MAC partition is not valid can't open: hd:3,\\bootinfo.txt
    Can't open device or file

i know that the needed files are in hd:2,\

How do i change this? I want it to boot directly into morphOS

    Thanks!

ah... i found the solution :)

    I wrote this in openfirmware:
    setenv boot-command boot hd:2,\\bootinfo.txt

rebooted, and it booted directly into morphOS :)
