So its been like 8 months since the last update. I was wondering what delays the next release.
Are we going to get a 3.8 release or maybe a major 4.0? There was also no 2.8 and 2.9 release and i think the version jump was due to the powerbook support. Maybe we will see the same with the upcoming Sam support. :)

We try to ship each MorphOS 3.8 download with an inflatable banana.

Unfortunatly during digitizing the edges of the generated pixels damage the bananas hull, so we need to find a way around first.

    Stay tuned!

3.8 has a re-worked os4emu that enables all OS4 apps to run under MorphOS..getting rid of the need for OS4. LOL

Not sure how that would work ???

As the only "need" for OS4 has allways been keeping certain people all in one place.....

I was going to start a new thread but this one will be sufficient.

I just want to say THANK YOU once again to the MorphOS Team for providing such a high quality product & complete product, with so many free updates. Compared to what some, err, others, are doing, the MorphOS Team is near sainthood.

Thanks guys! Please keep up the good work! BTW, if MorphOS 4.0 is a major release and requires an update fee I will not complain.

It will be MorphOS 3.8 and contain tons of bugfixes and some heavy optimisations.

There are no plans for any extra charge.

Since SAM460 support is funded and publicly shown, will it make it to 3.8?

So if that is a constant, then I suppose the release date is a variable? ;-)

That why we avoid setting a fixed date. Delays always happen and we do not want a rushed release that fails and lacks proper testing.

It also avoids people being disappointed about the delay in the first place.

I really hope that includes the improvements to panels. Minimize open window to panel, text (name of application) appears when mouse arrow points at the application ... Similar to a complete and fully functional dock-thing(s).

Glad to hear it - time to start getting money for license :-) It will support only built in graphics or Radeon X1300 too? If so, ay tested card, since I would like to get it instead of onboard 2D only ...

can you also map the "@" key in the german keymap layout to the "LAlt+L" combination instead of "Alt+Q" for the powerbooks/Apple Keyboards?

It's kinda weird that the character is at a different button than the labeled one.

There is only one German keymap and it is used for both Apple and PC keyboards. Probably second keymap could be created for Apple keyboards. File a bug report and someone can look at it.

What character you should get from LAlt+Q? '£'? I am asking because currently keys are defined like this:

    BYTES('@', '@', 'Q', 'q'), /* 10 */
    BYTES('£', '£', 'L', 'l'), /* 28 */
