Hi ,I'm having a problem with Jalepeno on my G5 system running MOS 3.7.

Every type of disc I try with any ISO, the software identifies the disc, then when clicking burn it just says Fixation then the disc ejects with an error that it cannot write the disc.

This problem is kown from the past and should be fixed in present MOS-versions.....and it depends on type of DVD-drive (FryingPAN also won't work)!
Unfortunately there are still some drives (originaly used by Apple - eg. Pioneer) which shows that behaviour futhermore....

I have the same problem on my G5 (Pioneer DVD-109 A912, NEC-HD-1300A).
I've heared that some other drives will work (Sony, LG?) - maybe forum-members here can tell more about....

Yes, my DVD-RW driver on my G5 doesn't work either.

I have Plextor PX-760A and working fine on my G5 :)

Had no idea that Jalapeno uses CDRECORD by Jorg Schilling.
Very nice.
I always uninstall that damn forked shit Ubuntu installs and go back to cdrecord when using Linux.

A Sony DVD RW DW-Q28A. It reads well, and when I burn with Jalapeno it says it burning successfully (DVD-RW) but it just blanks the disk and nothing gets written.

Is the FryingPan based on the cdrecord? Because the CD/DVD writing is not possbile with FryingPan on our G5 systems, either.

Don't think so.....the problem seems to be located deeper into MOS-hardwaredriver (IDE).......

Question: DVD-Drives are normaly connected to IDE-Port (2nd.ide.device) of G5. Has someone tested that with a SATA - drive on SATA-port?

FYI:
I had contact to F. Mariak in this case. He told me that this problem is caused by UDMA-support on G5. He also found out that this problem concerns only some drive-types. In next release of MOS there will be a work around to fix this problem.
