    Hello everybody,

I would like to know how good is MorphOS with 4k monitors. Questions are:
what is the max resolution for MOS?
Do we have support for PCIe graphics cards in G5 models?
Do we have support for such cards in G4 too?
Do we have support for HDMI connectors or Display port?
Does it make sense to use the VGA out and a HDMI adapter to use higher resolutions? DVI can just go to 1920 x 1200 but VGA can go higher.

No PCIe atm, so no display-port or HDMI (above FullHD).

But what does work is DualDVI found in some better Radeons for G5s.

Up to 2560x1600 (running 2560x1440 on a 27" Dell atm).

    DualDVI? As in dual screen?

DualDVI: no, just for one screen but with higher resolution

When Sam support comes will G5 also support PCIe? Or is totally different/difficult to do?
When PCIe support comes will it automatically allow HDMI and Display port? Does only the graphics card need to know which exit it has or does Cybergrahpix need to handle that?
Which Radeons support 2560x1600? Can they only be used in G5 or also in G4?

Not sure if any of the supported chipsets come with DPort when used on PCIe cards,

But higher res would probraly still use some work to get the timing right.

Can't really give you a list of D-DVI cards, but I'm useing a Radeon 9650 that orginally came with a 2x2.7GHz G5 (mine is only 2x2.3GHz). This card won't work in a G4 without modifications (cutting some wires to disable AGPx8) not 100% sure if it would work after those mods.

I also have a G4/5 compatible 9700Pro which I'm not 100% if it does D-DVI, as It won't fit my modded G4 (the DVI-connector is slightly misaligned).

There are some other cards that should work, and with some tricks you can even get most PowerBook to output that res (tricks for use in MorphOS, works out of the box in OSX).

Here I read that you can even displayy much higher resolutions with VGA than 2048x1536:
    http://superuser.com/questions/527192/what-maximal-resolution-is-reasonable-when-using-a-vga-cable

Do we have a good grahpics card supported by MOS that can show resolution like 4k or bigger than 2048x1536? And did anyone test if 2048x1536 looks okay on a PowerMac with G4 or G5 and MOS?
