    Problem 1

I have iMac G5 and latest MOS on USB stick. I have serious eye condition and magnifying glass.
How do I install latest MOS, but so that I keep MacOS X and dual boot? If possible triple boot
since I do want to use latest Linux PPC with MATE (any recommendations?)

I need real step by step guide so I dont F ... it up

    Problem 2
DJ nick has gave me his SAM460ex no CD, to install latest MorphOS.
He has AmigaOS 4.1 old version that came with SAM460ex.
I could destroy it for revenge, but its fair to keep it.
Same as 1) but since he has only 512MB RAM I doubt Linux is feasable on poor CPU and limited RAM,
so how to step by strep dual boot and install here

I plan to do this this weekend if possible.

I read dual boot PDF but it needs update and step by step process incl. install.

    OS 4.1 u something 2 or 3.
Yes, you are right, court case has fiddled with my mind. I wish OS 4.2 wasnt unicorn and I wont have to fiddle with US court system as non EU non UK citizen.

But, I am sure you can help me with this, you MOS guru :D

Regarding your problem #2: unfortunately no. But there are threads on this here on MorphZone.
Regarding your problem #1: With my Mac mini G4 and my PowerMac G5 AGP I simply followed the "dual boot PDF" you say "needs update and step by step process incl. install", which worked smoothly. But this was with MorphOS on the install CD, not on USB thumb drive. Booting your iMac G5 from USB instead should be possible with some OF magic, which has been discussed in countless threads over the years, the latest instance as recently as 2½ months ago.

OK I have working CD on iMac G5, I just need to buy blank CD, that is solvable. I ll try following Dual Boot PDF, and I hope MacOS X will survive.

OK on SAM460ex I have no regrets in killing OS 4.x (4.2 in my typo) for known reasons and DJ Nick agree. Surely performance on SAM460ex with 512MB will not be same as on iMac G5 1.5GB RAM.

Thanks for short, but OK exponation, case closed. However I do believe this should be step by step explained for SAM460ex, Macs and X5000 as MacOSX, Linux and MorphOS have different partitions and partition tables and I am not sure does something like LILO exists.

Some tool aiding install and creating boot menu (like LILO for Linux) would be most welcome.

Yes, absolutely, but more thanks to other factors than RAM amount.

    > this should be step by step explained for SAM460ex, Macs and X5000

It is at least for the Macs.

    > as MacOSX, Linux and MorphOS have different partitions

Triple booting with Linux is yet another thing, but there're also threads on this.

    > and partition tables

On PPC Mac, use APM (Apple Partition Map) for all OS drives.

    > I am not sure does something like LILO exists.

As I told you back in February, there's GRUB/GRUB2, and there's also old Yaboot. But none of this is really necessary as your Mac has a graphical boot menu built in.

    iMac:
    - Install MacOSX from installation DVD, leave 2/3 space unused for other systems. You have to partition disk manually. And MacOS hardisk tool is.. ehm.. far from ideal. Simplest method is to made three equal partitions and on the first install MacOS X. After that, delete two unused partitions.
    - Install Fienix.
Also leave part of disk unused.
    - Install MorphOS
    - you can select system by graphical bootmenu - press Alt ( Opt on Mac keyboard ) when booting.

    Sam460Ex:
    - at first, select graphics card compatible with all three systems ( like HD 6670, X1950 ). I.e card compatilble with MorphOS, fulfilling also this. Install PCI SATA SiI 3114 or 3512 controller.
    - install AmigaOS from DVD. Your system volume format you must be SFS, not SFS2 ! Set boot priority to 5. Leave enough space for other systems. For AmigaOS you need buy additional drivers like ( Enhancer ).
    - install MorphOS.
    - for linux check forum.hyperion-entertainment.com and amigans.net. It works, but it is not so automatical, there are some manual work.
    - MorphOS and AmigaOS you can select by bootmenu ( created automacically ), linux should be started from U-Boot command line.
    - generally, for start I recommend install only one system separatelly. Check it Test it. Play with it. Delete and install second. Than third... Only after that decide what you want.

From my point of view this is easiest way. There are many other ways how to do it. More optimal ways, but more complex to setup.
Anyway, if you are beginner with powerpc, I strictly recommend not to try install all systems on computers.

If you want to play and test, I recommend only this setup:
    iMac: Fienix and MorphOS
Sam460ex with RX550 gfx card: AmigaOS.
Forgot for MacOSX. Use it, only if you have special reason.

I am not tested Fienix on iMAC, but it should work and this is far easiest linux.
And if you wait long enough ( til January probably ) I will publish some detailed article about three systems on Sam460.

    Thanks Sailor, thats it!
I know of Fienix as part of making most recent PPC Linux for AmigaOnes and have latest version on stick.

I just already have installed MacOS X, can I resize partition from installed MacOS X and create two more?

There are games like RTCW, Doom3 I like on my iMac plus some productivity software, but since it doesnt have decent browser and office, maybe you are right :D
