    Hi alltogether,

I have been trying to print on my HP6MP Laserjet.
It worked flawless direkt with USB. But now it has
A place inside our Network. We are using Nokoprint
for Android to print inside the Network.
The printer does not appear with its IP.
The router is in 192.168.2.1 .... Port of the printer
    Is unnown.
Do we have someone who runs a similar system configuration?
And who is able to help me getting this old baby visible
    For Morphos.
Og før jeg glemmer det: god påske alle sammen!

AFAIK this Printer has no network-port (I have a HP6P)! How is it connected to LAN? Do you use a external Parallel/Ethernet-server? If yes, the IP of that server is your Printer-IP.

Yes, it has an parallel to USB Adapter ... I will try to find it.

There doesn't appear/disappear any IP while connecting/disconnecting the USB to parallel Adapter. The printer is bound to the Adapter and the Adapter is connected via USB to the router. Inside the router the Adapter is shown as unknown device.

Ah, ok. I do it a bit easier: Connecting the Laserjet directly with a parallel2ethernet-adapter to LAN (not to router, no USB), which works perfect, by the way.

If your adapter is connected via USB to your router, you may have to config routers USB-Ports for binding them to a static IP (useing them as printerports). This should be configurable in routers webinterface.
I have done similar with a Huawei-Router (connected USB-Printer directly) and it works......

@ defender - I believe there is a networking option via the parallel port using the tp-link networking tl-ps110p adapter, which may solve your problems from the networking aspect, but they aren't cheap, unless you consider 30+ GBP (£) cheap. 8-)

    I use a Netgear Miniprinterserver PS101 (https://www.netgear.de/support/product/PS101v1.aspx). On Eb..y for less then €20.-

Sounds interesting, but it works well in this configuration (except for MOS). Would for example a usb stick be visibel for Morphos ... so i might be able to send raw data to the printer?

I tested this now with a Pirelli-Modem, which has a multi-purpose USB-port (Masstore, printer, etc.).

The short way: It works with a printer and MOS here. Printing via Netprinter (new Printer-System - nit TP!) to IP of router and Port 631 (in my case) - direct Postscript.
I had to set following in my Routers-Config:

    40910892vg.jpeg

    40910893ta.jpeg

There are problems with activated spooler (should be off) and printing via Turboprint (does nothing). I've only tested the HP6P Laserprinter, which is enhanched with PS-emulation - maybe others won't work.

Well, my HP6MP has an Postscript Modul and 9mb RAM. Under win10 it is shown as \\speedport\unknown
    Modell HP LaserJet 6P/6MP Postscript
    Dataformat RAW
The printer works Well - the fault is my configuration on MOS. (glaube ich)

You cannot access it by name in MOS! You need the IP.
(You may define name and IP in system-prefs/hosts. But don't know, if it works in that case....)

But anyway: If your Router does'nt forward any direct access to <router-IP>:<Port> to USB-PrinterPort, or needs a special command from printerdriver to be activated, then I think, it won't work....... whatever you do in MOS-Prefs.....

So as I recomanded above: The easiest way is a small parallel2Ethernet-Printerserver (Netgear) - it's nearly plug&play
And this Server is so tiny, that it fits under your printers port-cover.......

By the way: I use this printerserver sometimes for a (very, very) old Needleprinter (Seikosha SL92) - works flawless.

No. The router won't be forwarding the USB port, it'll be mounting it as an lp printer or most likely as a Samba printer. You can still send raw data, but likely it'll be ignored as you still need the correct printer driver to format it.

Bought myself a Netgear PS101 for less than 20€ in E..y.
We'll see how that works. Thanks so far.

Will work! For MOS it's a good idea to give him a static IP.... You can do that by router or in printer-servers webinterface.

The pic shows how it fits into the Laserjet 6P:
