New "Off-Topic" sub-forum created and threads moved

A week ago, a new sub-forum named Off-Topic has been created and existing threads been moved there. According to the description, it "is for discussions that are unrelated to MorphOS". Apparently, threads created or moved in there are not visible on the MorphZone homepage, which is most likely the reason for creating the new sub-forum in the first place.
So for anybody who were missing some threads you now know where they are, and for anyone who wants to create some non-MorphOS thread you now know where to do so :-)

That's going to require some hair splitting judgement calls, since Amiga related topics aren't necessarily MorphOS related.
Like leaving the 68060FE thread where it is, instead of moving it, while moving the thread comparing Tabor to the G5.
MorphOS doesn't run on a 68K CPU, and PPC comparisons are relevant to MorphOS.

    WTF Andre?

Just an oversight for sure, so will be moved soon I guess.

...as long as MorphOS runs on all the compared platforms, I guess :-)

Again, a bit of hair splitting.

What about AmigaOS systems vs. MorphOS systems?
    It still would be relevant.

Just to mention one rather unpleasant byproduct, not to argue your decision:
Links to Morphzone from other sites that go to these topics obviously produce an error now, followed by a redirect to the forum list.

Not Andreas' decision. More likely Andre Siegel's.
And we just come off looking more elitist for it.

Exclusion of topics related to Amiga on a site where an OS with Amiga OS API compatibility is discussed is too convoluted for me to understand.

Deemed off-topic, apparently, as can be seen from the "Tabor vs G5" thread relocation you mentioned.

I'm just a user of this site, so not my decision. When I noticed the sudden absence of several threads from the homepage a week ago, my initial thought was that they were deleted. A PM to/from ASiegel revealed that they were still there but moved to a new sub-forum which wasn't even visible/browsable from the list of forums at that point in time.
As ASiegel has not said anything on this topic in public a week after the fact, I thought it be useful to inform the MorphZone users of the current status.

Indeed, that's also true for links from any MorphZone thread, moved or not, to any moved MorphZone thread.

Similar events have taken place on other forums. When Amiga.org changed it's forum structure, most info became inaccessible without trying to relocate it.
It is unfortunate that links to "read more here" or "the real story" etc. produce error messages on many sites now.
I do not not believe people will take the time to relocate and replace/correct non-functioning links to history. I surely will not, so unfortunately some history will be lost.
    I've accepted this.

    Heh.
He means that if a thread still in it's former forum OR a thread from the new off-topic forum links to a thread in the off-topic forum, it will produce the redirect

OK, must be me, as I couldn't extract that. Thanks.

    Yep, I noticed.
Next should be the icomp thread. ;-)

    Even this thread is borderline.

This very thread is in the "Website" forum that's "for discussing MorphZone.org[sic]", so where it belongs :-)

OK, as long as it doesn't go "off topic". ;-)

Seems this has been corrected since. The threads in the new sub-forum are found from old external links even if the forum ID doesn't match.

    Feel free to move it...
Looks like I will go elsewhere as this site has lost any and all perspective..
