i still have my G5 2.7 registered PowerMac, but honestly it has been mostly shelved for the last 2 years. I ended up with thermal issues after all and feared burning out a CPU. I'm sure it is something I can rectify eventually, but have been working on a lot of other projects.

So, this weekend I lucked out on a flea market find of a fully equipped air cooled PowerMac G5 2.3 with Radeon 9650 for $30. Brought it home, installed MorphOS 3.10 and received my keyfile within an hour of reg'ing. The team is really on the ball when it comes to turning around keyfiles! i appreciate that.

So besides the OS itself and the new email client, what have I missed in the last ~18 months or so? I've only casually followed the platform and may (or may not) have missed something. Any cool software updates or new releases? Any eUAE updates?

    Thanks in advance.

Good to hear, Jim. When you want to sell this one, contact me.
That was a really good price.
And your old G4 is still working perfectly.

We also have a virtually complete version of ScummVM v2.0.0 and a Beta of ResidualVM (ScummVM 3D variant) both by Bruno Peloille - so you can play Grim Fandango, Myst III Exile, and Escape from Monkey island (not tried the last one, but the other 2 play OK). Bear in mind if you play Grim Fandango you need to Save the game in a separate directory than the main root directory of Grim Fandango, as the game thinks your playing it via CD otherwise, and a bought CD-ROM is non-recordable, so it just won't save the game if you try to save it that way.

There's also RNOComics, and RNOWidgets which are nice utilities, and there's a 68k piece of software that shouldn't go unmentioned - DizzyTorrent v1.04, which seems to work nicely, now it's been tweaked a bit for use under MorphOS.

By the way . . . . . nice to have you back. :bloons:

Very unlikely I'll sell this G5 2.3 or the other G5 (2.7) any time soon. If I ever change my mind, I'll let you know. I'm glad the G4 worked out well for you :-)

I can understand about the 2.3, wattercooling can be a PITA.
I upgraded the G4 slightly with a faster processor card (thanks to your inclusion of the copper heatsink) and a Radeon 9800 card and if Mark releases 3850 AGP drivers I may move to that.
BTW - I remember you once had a G4 accelerator card. If you see anymore on the market would you let me know?
