I am downloading a 3G video off Youtube right now and getting about 1.4MB/s, which is the limit of my internet connection. Thanks guys!!! I don't feel second class anymore!! :-D

I never get more than 2MB/s on my 5MB/s (40Mbps) FTTC line. Even over my LAN it's the same, but I don't really download massive files so often with MorphOS so it doesn't bother me that much.

Aminet size files come down in a few seconds regardless of line speed. :)

You might want to type "setenv save OWB_POLLTIME 1" in a shell, and restart OWB. It may (or may not) be faster for you.
At least, with this value, i once tested OWB at 10MB/s over my LAN.

Thanks Fab, will try it later though I get the same speed even with Transfer or wget.

It would be good to have ALL the extraneous SETENV commands - that are additional to the MOS update/system releases, put somewhere so we can all add them into our systems rather than stumble across them here and there, like I have done now.

Maybe they could be put in the MOS library, with an explanation to say what they do and for which application/program they affect. I'm sure there are many of these, and similar, commands that I don't know about, and as a result of which I am sure my system is not as streamlined/efficient as it could be.

I stumbled across the MacMini Dual-Boot option by using SETENV to make MorphOS be the first OS to boot on such a system.

Simple when you know, but very frustrating until you find an explanation of how to achieve what you want to do when you have no idea how to accomplish it yourself.

    Just a thought, nothing more.

    .

But in this case, this is just an Odyssey option, and it's documented in OWB.readme. Not much more to do about it... :)

Just to make this difference clear, this is OpenFirmware ENV variable and setenv command, which have nought to do with MorphOS ENV variables and setenv command. WWW should have plenty documentation of OpenFirmware and its commands.
