Who has used it? Is it exclusively for games? I'm going to check it out just want to hear thoughts.

It just does not allow to emulate high end systems with graphic boards. It just emulates an A500, which will do for most games.

Tested it for the first time, when making the Grunch installer for it. Recent MUI GUI needs some work and cleanup, but seems to be quite nice.

The disks I tested worked fine.

Just tried it, good thing is game did load, however, a couple suggestions:

    - GUI doesn't tell what disk is loaded in df0: or df1: in any way
    - Diskdrivespeed can not be set
    - A note "F11 to get back into this menu" and " F12 Show drivestatus" should be visible in GUI
    - a small log would be nice, to see what you have loaded and ejected. A few lines will be enough

one more note, I was trying a two-disk game and when the game asked for disk 2 I went to gui, ejected disk, loaded disk 2 and pressed "run". The game refused to go continue, as if like the disk was never changed. Anyone else got this or was I just unlucky?

UAE4all is useful for slow computers, UAE4all is a strip down version of UAE, the accuracy isn't as perfect like UAE, but some games are playable on slow systems. I ony use it on my Efika system, EUAE it's so much better than UAE4all, but requires a fast computer.

Disk speed is emulated (or something similar) through Throttle, you can press PAGE UP key during emulation to load games faster (is specified in the readme, SuperThrottle mode).

I have found a bug when loading disk, it can fail sometimes, it's fixed yet, so it will be available for the next release.

I have added an alert box when kick.rom file isn't found.

Now the GUI is launched at the start, it doesn't enter to emulation directly.

I'm fixing the issues with MUI gui (it's my first MUI app), and i'm checking audio emulation because i have tested previous versions of UAE4all, and sound emulation is better. I will add your suggestions for the next release.

This version doesn't use overlay, but i have an experimental version of UAE4all rc1 that uses SDL Overlay, but it is not very optimized, it converts the SDL surface to the SDL Overlay surface each frame that need to be updated.

But this feature could help people that have problems with 320x240 screens, I have received emails of users that don't have a properly configured screen mode and they had problems running uae4all although i guess that it's not a problem with uae4all. I made that version to use a 640x480 screen, and scaling the graphics through overlay support. It's planned to support this feature on next releases, but it requires some changes to make it work, I want to add this feature at runtime, letting change the screen mode on any moment.

    @balrog

I did a port of older version 2 years ago with a MUI GUI and distributed it to some friends, it showed and allowed to exchange ROM, floppy disks, ram, etc... I started to take parts of full UAE to rc1 or rc2 but decided to switch to full E-UAE GUI (winuae like, it's quite advanced but since I'm a lazy bastard I haven't finished it yet)

I can give you the sources of my old version but I don't think it helps much since it's a pretty simple GUI, I think you should force GUI window to appear always on Ambient in case of full screen to avoid problems. I think that in order to make uae4all faster sdl should be removed completely (code for native cgx can be taken from uae and euae).

You could check out BasiliskII MUI GUI sources as Itix code is quite clear.

So on a speedy system like mine there is no real advantage of using UAE4all over E-UAE?

What is the best GUI for E-UAE?

    Andreas_Wolf,

Yeah I am familiar with that one. Not bad just thin on options.

    Thanks.

Not really, in fact I found E-UAEĀ emulation more accurate, you get better resolutions support, AGA, hardfile support...

I used older UAE's MuiRexx one, it allowed exchanging floppy disks, choosing rom file... it's better than some launchers that aren't real GUIs

For what it's worth: I found this release to be slower than e-uae; probably because of the lack of overlay.

    Use the full UAE.
UAE4all seems to be for a500 games on slow systems.
UAE runs my old a2500 system on my PPC.
    Runs almost all games.
