    Any sort of unformat utility for MorphOS? Say you had a FAT32 external HD that accidentally had a MorphOS install applied to it. Would that person have screwed the pooch?

    Not asking for me, just some unnamed MorphOS user I know ;-)

    I don't think that any kind of "unformat" is even technically possible at that stage as by writing the MorphOS files, crucial metadata of the previous FAT32 filesystem structure has most likely been overwritten past retrieval. The only solution I see is to try to salvage the files that have not been overwritten yet by using a FAT32 salvage tool, of which there are many for Windows (but none for MorphOS that I know of). Depending on what the current filesystem of the HDD is, a *quick* reformat to FAT32 may be required prior to using such tool.
