Does your OWB hang when loading this thread (page 2):

    http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?s=e918dc234d75b645d677cc9fa6ebdf59&t=56022&page=2

I tried four times after reboot, each time OWB stopped working near the end of download.

    hooligan,

The page has a youtube clip embedded, so it's likely it's the flash plugin acting up. Personally I've removed the flash plugin completely and only use html5 these days.

You are probably right about the flash-issue, will test again when I get back home from work. Removing the flash-plugin to avoid problems.. sort of removing gasoline from car to prevent accidents isn't it :)

Hope Fab gets the issue sorted at some point.

(btw, im still using flash 1.2 instead of 1.3 as was told at mos3.0 release, this is still the case with 3.1?)

I think it's some conflict between the flash plugin and the MorphOS 3.1 cairo.library. It can be worked around for sure, but it can take a moment to create the fixed version.

I've also found some sites (with problematic popups) which kills OWB (from MOS3.0/3.1 CD distribution). Useing OWB1.17 from Fab's homepage instead, solves most of this problems.....(eg. http://goldesel.to)
    Peg2, 3xPowerMac G5, 2xPowerbookG4, 2x MacMiniG4, Efika (again), A3000T and life is never boring.....

Until Flash plugin can be made to work again with the new cairo library, if you need flash, make sure to use OWB 1.17 from my homepage and swfdec_plugin 1.2. It will work flawlessly (well as much as swfdec can work, that is ;)).

The OWB coming with MOS3.1 is the same version you suggested a few weeks ago, I hope: http://fabportnawak.free.fr/owb/owb-morphos-1.17.lha

That one worked quite nicely actually

His statement ("make sure to use OWB 1.17 from my homepage") rather suggests it is not, I'd say.

Exactly, thats why I asked.. but on the other hand why would they include a non-working version in the package?

Anyway, when I get home I will re-install and see if it fixes the problem.

And if you don't want to be that harsh, you can have flash plugin installed, but disable it by default from OWB preferences (Content->Allow plugins). Then you can enable it from the menu (Settings->Plugins->Enable + reload) if you absolutely need to try it for a certain page.

The version from my site doesn't use cairo.library which avoids some trouble with the flash plugin. So i suggest using it.
Also, it has SVG support if you need it. The version on ISO comes without SVG.

I confirm that with OWB 1.17 from Fab homepage and swfdec_plugin 1.2 it works perfectly (I can also watch the movie, even if very slow) while with OWB from 3.1CD and swfdec_plugin 1.4 it hangs.

    We did not.

Read: We weren't able to anticipate the flash plugin fuxoring up.

    Tadaa, working again

    @Piru

But MOS3.1 is having the same non-working version which was known to be broken quite a long time now, wouldn't it be better to include the working 1.17 of OWB instead of non-working 1.17? :-)

Well, OWB fro ISO itself doesn't have issues, but the use of shared libraries exposed some. Making cairo.library baserelative prevents the flash plugin from working, now. I'll see if it can be fixed (it's not that trivial).
