    Hi,

For the morphos Christmas tree I propose latest python3 (3.2.2) and blender (2.61).
as usual available through grunch and my wiki.

Note that the render engine "cycles" is not available yet, but video tracking tool is it.

    Merry Christmas.

Thanks for Blender Yomgui. Thats the only video editing software for MorphOS. Is there any good guides on how to use it?

Regards and Happy Christmas to you!

Blendercookies has many good ones, with videos stored on video.
and many others are available on the net

    Thanks Yomgui!

Can't get Blender to work though. I followed the instructions on installation of Python 3.2.. but I always get a "you need 3version 32 of python3.library"... not sure why it cannot find it...

    Cheers,

@dragster, xdelusion: what kind of installation are you using? manual or grunch?

if grunch, I see no problems. If manual, are you sure to have python3.library file in SYS:libs/ ?
    And all the SYS:Libs/python3.2/ tree?
After that, check that they are the good ones, and not thus from a previous install (3.2.1).

    Hey Yomgui,

    Thanks for youre ply.

My installation was done manually... I downloaded thelatest version of python from your website...

Checked what you said, it seem to be OK:

So which result are you obtaining by typing in a shell "C:python3.2" ?

If it works (w/o the popup), Python3 is correctly installed.
Check if your blender installation doesn't contain a python3.library and remove it if true, remove also an outdated libs/python3.2 in this blender directory if exists.
These files were installed with the standalone version, but now python3 resides in SYS:.

    Hi Yomgui,

Running c:python3.2 shows the same requester saying ... "you need version 32 of python3.library"...

and I've no python3.library in the blender directory... running out of ideas here :-(

    Cheers,

@dragster: something is fuc** on your system. Check where LIBS: is assigned to and run snoopium before running python3 to see where the python3.library is searched. It's not possible that the library is not found without a wrong installation or a modified assignements.
Type "Assign" and check if LIBS: is set with a path containing the python3.library

    Hi Yomgui,

The installation is correct. I've found the issue... turns out I had disabled MOS native tcp/ip stack to try Miami instead, for some reason, Miami appears to be faster... anyhow, re-enabling MOS tcp/ip stack made Python 3.2 work and Blender 2.61 as well.

Now I'm just wondering.. why is it needed?

    Thanks!

python uses the usegroup.library for some informations. maybe this one sucks at loading causing python3.library fails

I've just posted a fix release for blender 2.61: main fix is removing a crash when FFMPEG lib is used to read/write videos files.

    (also available using grunch)

Oups... by mistake I've disabled some features like the camera tracking system.
So I've made a quick fix again, so the r168 is now obsolete, use this one:

From my early watch on cycles code, it's based on BOOST C++ library, but it uses threading and this part of BOOST is not supported as it on MorphOS (I even don't know the support scope of BOOST on MorphOS anyway).

If someone want to make it... go ahead!
I've some work to finish on others projects like GB3.
