I'm trying to scp a 2.2GB file over the network... only 229mb transfers and it says 100% complete.

I'm assuming this is a bug? I have 2.7 MorphOS installed.

Most (MorphOS) filesystems have a limit of 2GB per file.

Useing ext2 or IceFS might help here.

Time to try that 2.2GB file copy to IceFS partition.

It's more likely that both cp and scp can't handle 64bit properly, a 64bit filesystem won't help here.

You say you copy the file over network.

If that involves SMBFS, then an error is quite normal, as the currently available SMBFS fails instantly when a file >2GB is accessed.

scp has nothing to do with Samba.

    stefkos,

Is NFS an option in MorphOS? if not then its important. I say this because I can't even copy a 4GB file from my USB drive to my IceFS partition.

Even if there is NFS I always prefer SCP because SCP needs no setup. It always works. So yes, a working SCP is important.

Your third post was about "cp" not "scp" so I assumed wrong :)

scp command....but I cannot cp the same file from my external usb drive to my IceFS partition either. So its both cp and scp.

ok, so whats the status of this? Is it going to get fixed? Is it an issue with the port of cp and scp? MorphOS issue?

Haven't tested, but don't you think removing these tools just because they weren't compiled with large file support would be a bit excessive (and maybe they're just based on older sources from the bsd/linux tools that predate large file support, anyway) ? :)

Well if its that simple, then they should recompile and re-release it with 3.0. Looking forward to the fix.

Yea, I dont know what you're saying. You copied something on your ext3 FS while using MorphOS to your MorphOS SFS partition? Or you used Knoppix to copy from ext3 to MorphOS SFS?

Ever heard about incremental improvement? We aren't going to pull things from the distro just cause they don't support some new feature.
