Are there any competent developers besides the MorphOS team? I know of a couple but they seem to have plenty on their plate.

That is obviously our greatest problem, that there are too few "competent developers" left in the Amiga communities, and the few we do have mostly work independently on projects, so any software projects that require several to several dozen programmers to complete in a timely manner, are far beyond the available resources that are left in any of our communities.

How do we get more developers interested in any of our Amiga inspired platforms? It might be easier to get developers interested in a particular software project with multiple platform targets, in partnership with one or more Amiga, or MorphOS developers, who can do the Amiga, or MorphOS specific coding, on a larger software project.

Unless we find a programmer outside of the Amiga and MorphOS communities who has lots of free time, and who does not care about making money during that free time, and who also has a strange interest in obscure platforms like the Amiga or MorphOS, we have a slim chance of generating any interest in most other programmers. I have spent years trying to figure out how to bring more users and programmers to the MorphOS community, with very little success.
MorphOS - The best Next Gen Amiga choice.
