Maybe you should rather check your disk fragmentation. Files in conf/ like History.db, cookiecollection.db and most importantly WebPageIcons.db can grow after some time.

But if that's it, it would be nice to avoid confusing a fragmented/slow disk with a network loading time when reporting such things...

And it would also be nice not to confuse generic network performance issue and the browser itself (OWB just makes HTTP connections through CURL, and the rest is up to the stack and network).
