Hi, I try to upload a .doc file to google docs but it seems that that is not possible because I always get a "server rejected" error message. Am I doing something wrong or is it just not possible? BTW I tried this with new 1.9 of OWB.

It's just google being broken and refusing it for many browsers, randomly. There's a workaround for this: you just mail the document to your gmail account, and from there, you can view and edit the document in google docs.

Ah, one more thing. It seems spoofing as safari (or chrome?) is important, else it won't allow you to view and edit it.
