When I visit Guardian Unlimited using MorphOS>OWB 1.8 (spoofing as OWB), the site graphics render as usual, but there is no text displayed.

I've just checked on windowsXP>firefox and the site renders correctly, with all text.

Could someone please visit the site using MorphOS>OWB 1.8 to see if the site is rendered correctly on an alternative system? (The page takes a while to load - presumably due to flash content)

Having visited the Guardian site yesterday using OWB, with no problems, I assume it is either a change in the site layout which breaks compatibility, or I have mysteriously buggered something up on my system (not unheard of).

    Thanks guys.

    No text here either. Strange.

Thanks Andreas, reassuring that it's not just my config.

Oddly, looking (very briefly) at the source code, there are many standard entries which should render as text (it's not just an empty top-level page calling up other code pages).

I wonder if they've broken something in the head declarations to which OWB may not be as tolerant of as other browsers. Needs Fab to have a look really I suppose. It was definitely rendering properly until today though...

I'd imagine if it goes back to Webkit, then there will be a lot of 3G phone users frustrated, and Guardian will fix it pretty promptly. If it's just OWB, then this is less likely.

    Hi,

Just checked it and the text is "just" not visible, but it's present.

Because, if you select the invisible text you can copy it and paste it into another texteditor (or shell window or...) and there you can read it.

    Bye HAK

Stumbled over another site with invisible text: http://www.mentor.com

I'm sure it had text the last time I visited there some weeks ago.

Well, at least the Guardian is back up: whatever the problem was, they seem to have fixed it.

I can read the news once more!
