"RAmiga + ." works on my Powerbook (UK keymap) to arrange them into alphabetical order. That is the .> key on the main keyboard, not the numeric keypad.
RAmiga + S does not appear to snapshot icons though (which I'm mildly surprised by), so you may have to sufffer using the mouse on those rare occasions.
Of course snapshotting into place after cleaning up would only affect files/directories with icons in any case.
