Downloaded wmv's using mmsclient. When played in Mplayer all start at 5 or 6 seconds by the timer? Why?
Is there a way to recode so the wmv's start at 0 seconds/

it's probably MPlayer filling its cache. You can config cache size in the config file although if you set a value too low your videos will stop from time to time. I prefer to wait a little so cache if filled and play videos smoothly.

From the post, i rather understand that the timecode begins to 6s, which could happen when dumping a raw stream. Reencoding it with mencoder should probably fix that (to be seen what's the fastest way, i don't know).

Keep flyin guys! Thank-you both .The videos were a dump from a raw stream. Reencoded with mencoder and time was reset to zero.
