I want to record some mp3 sounds like a woodsaw in progress,a hammer etc...
These mp3 's I want to convert to an amiga friendly soundfile.
It want to play them on an amiga600 no pimped up one just a simple 68000 cpu.
Any tips on the kind off format to use?
And a tip for a converterprogram which will work on MOS?
And maybe a tip for a nice simple player for the amiga600.

http://aminet.net/package/mus/play/Play16 is a good player for a classic Amiga. You'll probably want to use an IFF format for your sample such as AIFF for 16-bit samples due to Amiga being a big endian system. If you don't mind an 8-bit sample then IFF-8SVX would be a better choice. When playing 16-bit samples they only get the top 14-bits of precision due to hardware limitations.

Don't mind the lower quality i'll go for the iff-8SVX format then.
But is there a converter from mp3 to iff-8svx?

    Think I found something: http://aminet.net/package/mus/edit/Samplemanager
Reads mp3 and can convert to 8svx

    @ amiga4001

I've used this with much success. Shell-based. Very lightweight and quick.
