I've read (ofcourse) all the posts in this thread and it seems possible to let mplayer play a whole DVD
How can you see the whole DVD?
Until now I just selected the VOB-files to see the movie.
And is it possible to see whole VCD-CD's too instead of selecting tracks?

I have to say that mplayer works very nicely indeed!!
