moving away from ANR for mp3 streaming since I got that going as a default in OWB, how DO I input a type of command in owb to default mplayer(gmplayer) to play a video stream. Don't know how effective this would be or how fast on efika, but I'm willing to give it a try. Here's a linky to play with PBS

I have configured OWB to play avi's, mpg's. Im at work now so i probably give you some smaller errors:)
I created a mime type, application/video and pointed to GMPlayer with %u or something:), so everytime i click on an video link it's played with GMPlayer.

    hmm, some big corrections.
    mime type is video/*
    leave extension blank
    external viewer "Program:Grafik/MPlayer/GMPlayer >nil:" %l

    Thanks dake!
this works great for sites with avi format as such. It works well on 1024x768 resolution on my efika but loses mem under
1920x10.. I also used owb 1.3, as to conserve even more mem(1.4 seems to use more)

Now streams like the one in thefirst post (pbs) yahoo video, and winampaol....these are a completly different beast? or could something similair be configured? getvid works for youtube, but what if you're not browsing youtube videos?

if you mean with getvid the getVideo project that is released on aminet,
then it does of course not only work with youtube.
getVideo has currently support for more then 30 sites.

hmm ... this looks not good ... this site use rtmp stream
    rtmp://pbs.fcod.llnwd.net/a1863/o6/tp-live/PBS_CP_The_NewsHour/pbsnh081409_448k.mp4

but you can download using rtmpdump
    rtmpdump -r "rtmp://pbs.fcod.llnwd.net/a1863/o6/tp-live/PBS_CP_The_NewsHour/pbsnh081409_448k.mp4" -o outfile.mp4

    @antibike

This should be a great solution for now. I'm not familiar with rtmp, which seems to bring up the exact stream, so please enlighten me a bit more in usage and program

    thanks!

i tried to look a video of the german ard mediathek. getvideo wants "rtmpdump" to save the video stream on harddisk, but rtmpdump isnt included in the getvideo package.

tried to look at https://code.launchpad.net/rtmpdump and aminet but cant find a binary version for morphos. could someone point to the right direction? thx in advance.
