    See the subject :-)

With MOS1.3 you only had to install the OS3.9 version and on top of the installation the MUI version from Aminet.

Now I get errors with it when trying to connect to the internet.

So if someone managed to install it correctly, please post how you did it. :-D

Oh, MiamiDX works (this is how I'm able to post this :-))

after I installed MOS 1.4, genesis stopped working here too as it seems it has serious problems with the move of MUI to sys:classes/mui (at least, that's how it looks like in the snoopdos output) and the lack of a mui: assign. Maybe there are other problems, too. I replaced it with MiamiDX, which works fine so far, but only when I turn off trance. With trance turned on, it freezes my system when ever I try to safe some download in voyager or with wget. Disabling trance helped!

    Hello fnord,

I reinstalled a few progs again and checked with SnoopDOS for errors.

with Genesis it tries to do something with "apppdns1" or so?!

With all other progs I installed their MUI classes in SYS:Classes/MUI.

Thanks for your tip to turn off Trance.

One question: how do you turn it on? :-)

this probably wont be too much help...I had the same problem... I updated 1.3 --> 1.4 and Genesis would lock up... a few .mcc classes had to be copied over..did that and it fixed it for me. Hope you get it working.

    Hello TheMagicM,

I've tried everything now I could think of, but I've got still the same problem.

When going online with Genesis I see the following:
    err S2_CONFIGINTERFACE: invalid adress
    note ether0 is now online

But ofcourse it isn't really online. :-(

And I don't get the invalid adress part. Because the only stuff I filled in are the IP-adresses from my provider.

Does anyone know where to look?

    Hi DJBase,

    I installed Genesis 1.0.4.
I'm not familiar with that error-message.

I'll search in my Amiga Format and CU Amiga cd's for another version
    of Genesis. :-)

Just got Genesis working again, thanks to CISC! :-D

    Here's how I managed it:

If started Genesis creates the following dir -> ENV:NetConfig
In this dir there are 2 files:

    - AutoInterfaces
    - NoAutoTraffic

In AutoInterfaces I saw the following text:

    ether0 DEV=Devs:Networks/via_rhinepci.device UNIT=0

I completed this text with CISC's help sothat I got the following text:

    ether0 DEV=Devs:Networks/via_rhinepci.device UNIT=0 MTU=1500 ADDR=00:04:12:03:21:10

    The ADDR-part is the MAC-adress.

In GenesisPrefs you have to fill in the last part (from 'MTU...') in the window of your hardware-interface in the field Params: (bottom-right)
