I'm not having any problems with SMBFS except for the one I mentioned in my previous post. The speed is nearly 5MB/sec to RAM and around 3MB/sec to HD (that's what Ambient shows when copying a large file) - so it's still lot faster than using USB stick ;). I never experienced any corrupted or broken files (large or small, doesn't matter).

But, someone posted that these problem occurred only when Samba was installed (I am using only SMBFS). And as I understood correctly, the problem was with very small, not large files.

Also, I used the newest GMPlayer (thanks Fab!!!) to open video files straight from the LAN - my XP machine that is - and all plays smoothly, no A/V sync problems at all. I will even risk the statement, that network on Efika is faster than IDE interface ;)

To sum up - for me, SMBFS works really great, I just can't start it with service=//WinXPMachine/all as it returns error mentioned earlier. Mounting separate share folder works just fine.

I am using version 1.66 (10.6.2004) - the one from Aminet.
