    Hi all,

I'm a bit surprised by all these problems with Samba running on MorphOS 2, having low speed, not being able to
write large files (I often need to copy or save image files with >80 MB)...

I posted an answer to max who wrote to the morphos mailing liste, that I also find it difficult to setup and use Samba
and I've got the following answer back:

IMHO it is not. It's actually dead easy;)

Only if you want your shares on the MorphOS side. But even
Samba is easy to install (if you use the right package and
    read the manual properly).

If you just want to connect your MorphOS box to some Windows
or OSX Samba shares you only need 'smbfs' on MorphOS. It's
    very easy to use too.

I used SharePoints on OSX to configure a few Samba shares and
then just connected with smbfs from MorphOS to it. I attached
a script which I use from WBStartup directory for this
(just add an icon, set it to project mode and use IconX as
default tool... and of course modify it to match your
configuration... install 'smbfs' executable to SYS:C/ ).

It's all dead easy. Seriously. If I had a little sister,
even she could do that. ;)

    regards,

So, is it so easy to install and is it working without problems, because here are several
people working 8 hours per day which does not permit me to not being able to share HD's
    and Networkprinters in a LAN.

    Many thanks for your feedback.

    Regards

    Christoph
