So, could anyone who had even the slightest success share the knowledge of how to actually do this?

I've tried the big samba archive with about 20 binaries and a zillion other files. With this one, I can actually list the services in the workgroup that has been configured, but I don't have the slightest clue of how to actually do anything useful with it (I'm only interested in being able to transfer files, and of course the docs don't tell you anything about how to do this, in the best *ix tradition).

I also tried SMB-Handler, which however prompts me for a password, and there's no password for this share, so I guess something is wrong there.

SMBFS, finally, starts without complaining when I give what I believe is the correct options, but the 'status' command doesn't show anything more than 'SMBFS', and it's also impossible to break.
