I just installed a plain jane Ubuntu Linux on a VMware session.. I just vnc from my efika to it and use Firefox that way. It uses less memory also. morphvnc is one cool app.

its still too fat... I'm going to check out and see if Damn Small Linux will work better or SuSE 11 (dumbed down)

butyou need another computer to do such a thing.
that other computer already has an (or more) os installed - i dont see the purpose to install vmware and another os on top of only to use vnc.... or wvmare is available to morphos?

it only sounds stupid to someone who is stupid. oh, there you are.

    saddam:
No, I have another pc available but thats what I'm doing.. I'd rather do that than have to power down my EFIKA because Sputnik freezes it.

it seems you need a kvm (keyboard mouse swither) instead.... i have a shitpeecee and my peg, sitting next to each other, and when i need firefox just push on the blue button and voil?: no slow vnc screens but the rael one:)

and i need to push that button more and more rarely, coz morphos 2.0 is damn fine:))

Anyone who starts a thread like this one and their "workaround" is to use vnc to connect TO ANOTHER BOX must have their head examined.

That is the most pita solutiong i've seen and the thread is misleading period. face it

I don't think its a PITA solution at all! If I've got the big Mac Stack running in the basement, and the little Efika hooked up to my teevee (37" LCD) and need flash, well, I'd love to try this solution with MOS. This assumes ethernet connectivity, of course.

I'd call this a great 'workaround' because that's what it is-a temporary solution till MOS can do what the other box can, with ease. We're getting there :-)
