i've got some problems with these great new toys, perhaps others too.

problem with scube is, that i want to start it at boot, therefore i've put it in wbstartup, but it couldnt find the gfx this way.
    ok, i wrote a line in user-startup (run >nil: path:scube).
it works now but when it enter the cube mode, instead of the background pic
theres some garbage made from the screen behind and while the cube is rotating,
it leaves its mark all the time - all previous frames can be seen at once.
when i deactivate it from exchange then start it from ambient it works fine.
i even added a line to user startup - path "scube's path" ADD, but it didnt solve the problem:)

with lucy i've got only a few minor problems: first and most important, that the panel is also transparent,
guess coz its inactive, even if i set the "ignore backdrop windows - mabye panel is not...)
second problem, nor "window under mouse pointar and active window..." nor "auto-activate window" options doesnt seem to work.
i set them but no effect.

to write something positive too, i must tell that i am really impressed by these softwares,
the speed and smoothness of the cube is incredible, its a lot faster then the cube in compiz/linux (athlon2700+, radeon 9800)!
lucy is got me with "her" nice gui and the one-click window acrivation is really handy!

    thanks guys!

I did it in this way:
I took an icon of an already existent program. A project icon not a tool icon. I renamed "Scube_MOS" and changed the default tool with directory and drawers in wich scube is (ie:Morphos:Tools/scube/scube). Put it in WBstartup and it works without any problems. I didn't modified the user-startup in this way. Little tricky, but I didn't want to fight against icon... and so... :-)
Lucy: like all womens do, "she" does on your own! I changed configuration in different ways.. But it's the same: panel is transparent and the pointer settings don't work. Wow! What a woman!!! ;-)

its normal, as written in the readme, lucy works only on those screens where from it has been opened - at the moment (maybe this will change in the future).

@jambalah: thanks mate! that one worked!
but what did you mean at the other thread by "try the mouse" or something like that?
i cannot activate the cube with mouse only, just with crtl+tab.

lucy has updated, auto-activation and mousepointer stuff working now!
    great, thanks guys!

panel is still transparent, guess its not a bug but a more complicated issue...

    glad It was helpful! :)
In the other 3d, I meant mouse used to move the whole cube. That's great!

i think i've found a bug in scbube: when more than 2 screens are opened, ctrl+tab jumps between only two of them,
when a screen selected with mouse, it not jumps into the focused screen but a completly different one...
when more than 4 screen are opened you cannot select the screens on top and below, not with ctrl+tab nor with mouse.

lucy: the menus acting weird when lucy is running.

    Hi all,

I experience 2 problems when using SCube:

    1) I opend 3 programs (and Ambient is open) on seperate screens, one is "Designer", then "PageStream4" and "Blender". Now when I cycle through the screens with ctrl+tab and PageStream4 is selected then the screen jumps all the time to another one except PageStream4. The others are ok, I mean if I select either Blender, or designer or Ambient it works.

I noticed the same problem as with PageStream4 with BME.

    2) When I cycle through the screens there is often, but not every time a strange pattern showing up during the cycling in the background. To better explain what I want to explain, I made a small video (2.5 MB) which can be downloaded her:

    http://www.rmsvideo.ch/public_rms/morphos/scube_320x240.avi

For info, to better show the problem I made all the images in the skybox drawer black to acheive a black background.

Could these be bugs? Does anyone else have these problems?

    Regards

    Christoph

The first Problem you discribe is happening to me and others too.
The second Problem is maybe releated to your GFX Mem or GFX Board.
Maybe your Card is about to running out of GFX Mem.
What resolution are you using and how much GFX Mem did you Card have?

Ah, ok, then perhaps this problem will be fixed for a next version.

Well, I use an Radeon9000Pro with 128 MB of RAM and the resolution is 1600x1200x24. Connected via DVI on an Eizo CG21.

I have a newer card, an Radeon9250Pro with 256MB of RAM but unfortunately I can't connect the Monitor to the DVI port on this card with a resolution of 1600x1200x24. Lower resolutions seem to work...

Perhaps my GraphicCard's DDR Memory of the 9000Pro has a problem then?

I made a serial log right after a reboot which shows that there "R200: Unable to istall texture"

The log can be found here:

    http://www.rmsvideo.ch/public_rms/morphos/scube_serial_log.txt

Any idea what that could be?

I don't know what exactely you mean but I'm shure that SCube gets started via the WBStartub and it finds all the textures it needs!

Here is a Snoopium log when I start SCube:

[2] [SCube] [Open] [CON:10/10/320/80/SCube/AUTO/CLOSE/WAIT] [Modify] [OK]

The new Scube version is selecting the correct Screens. No Problems anymore.
But how do you get transparent Panels?

in the panel prefs, choose "always on front" and your panel will be solid again.
