Is the XGI graphics card shipped by GENESI as an option with the Efika not supported?
Just wondering if this is why the installer hangs at the Quark message or if there is something else to worry about?
    Mos 2.4; Peg1; G3 600Mhz; Hercules 3D Prophet 9000 pro 128MB; 200GB disk. 1GB ram.

    XGI cards are indeed unsupported.

Many of the Efika Open Client units shipped with cards that have the SiS301 chip. But this chip is only for the s-video out. The actual GPU is unsupported. I learned this the hard way.

Right, sadly all/most of the new 3d features only work on Radeon (r200) cards.

Grab a cheap ATI 9250 - they are not the most powerful ones, but cheap, easy to obtai and consume not much energy.
I guess for the Efika the 9250 is kind of best fit.

If you want a fast gfx card for an Efika look for a Radeon 9100L (lowprofile, 64MB, manufactured by powercolor or club3d). It's working nicely here with Pegasos2, dunno how about Efika though :).

I picked up a powercolor r9250 256MB AGP, which is also a low-profile card. But, it was just slightly too long to fit in the open client case (without modification). Anything longer than 17.5cm will not fit.. The powercolor r9250 is about 18.5cm.. Not sure about the r9100L though.
