Yesterday I had a similar symptom, starting MorphOS 2.0 from CD. The only thing I had to do is waiting a couple of minutes, seeing the "Quark/OpenFirmware" on the screen, and the CD doing nothing. By the way, before that, I saw the CD led blinking in a way I've never seen in any computer, kind of "dimming". Amazing.
