Yesterday I had a similar symptom, starting MorphOS 2.0 from CD. The only thing I had to do is waiting a couple of minutes, seeing the "Quark/OpenFirmware" on the screen, and the CD doing nothing. By the way, before that, I saw the CD led blinking in a way I've never seen in any computer, kind of "dimming". Amazing.
Then, the loading process continues, with the most fearfull CD drive thrashing I've seen since AmigaOS 1.0 on my Amiga 1000. But MorphOS 2.0 starts fine, only with a loading time of minures. Intriguing and fun.
Al these problems are gone when MorphOS 2.0 lives in a hard drive partition.
I guess it wasn't a good idea to burn the ISO image on a quickly erased CD/RW disc...
