Hi all! I'm back to the development and here is a little candy:
    https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=133480&package_id=197653
Go and get new trackdisk.device. It's no more WIP, all commands work (including formatting), and preferences program is now locale-aware (however only french catalog is there).
Also i am finishing new version of CDVDFS. Currently one of my testers report a crash when he inserts some specific DVD. I've asked him to give me an image, he doesn't reply. If he doesn't reply for several days, i'll release CDVDFS1.3. It's already heavily bigfixed.
I am really resuming MOSNet at last. The schedule is the same as before: updated miami.library and inetd.

I've got the image, will play with it. I'll definitely find the bug, it's going to be simple and stupid IMHO.

I currently don't work on MacOS X due to lack of time. However it's not cancelled.

How big is the possibility that BootX would work on the Pegasos?

It's good to hear that it is not cancelled. BootX seems to be very interesting. I do hope you will find some time to finish it as soon as you can.

Thank you for your hard work. I look forward to hearing more about your work.

What shall BootX on the Pegasos be good for?
For OS X I have a Power Mac G4 dual.

Thats great for you to have a DualG4 Mac but i don't like many of us. And it would be great to use the Pegasos as a cheap G4 Mac.

Great that you have PM G4. But I don't have a PM G4 and I won't buy it. As far as I know most ppl here don't have it either. Instead of buying PM G4 I'd rather run MacOSX on my Peg2 ;)
It would greatly show that Peg2 is a quite versatile machine ;)

yeah, bootx on the peg will be great!
what for? many of us cant afford a dualg4 mac and many of us dont want tp have on either, but if i have a ppc machine, why dont use osx on it?
good to hear that you have a dualmac, but who cares?
    we are pegasos users here:)

go Sonic, go!:) and thank you for all your work!

yes, there are a lot of pegasos users waiting for BootX, i've been fond of the project since the first time you mentionned it.

go for BootX please !!! MOSNet can wait (especially since MOS 2.0 has its own TCP/IP stack).

    Hi sonic,

It's a pleasure to read you here again.

I do agree with all the previous posts. BootX can be a fantastic tool.
It's like an entry to a new world. I'd rather use BootX than Linux.
I've been excited from the first time I read about it ;)

I'm really interested in BooxtX too.
MacOS is something I don't know very much,
but a very friend of my has a G4 Laptop, and
it's fantastic to see what he manages to do.
Linux is a pain in the ass, at least for me, when it comes to
setup the system to play sound or video files. A little slow on my 512MB peg. Would it speed up OpenSUSE Linux with 1GB RAM?
BootX could be interesting, but I suppose it implies very much work. MAybe a bounty system for it?? :-o

I think that bounty would be a great idea as well as a good way to show Sonic that we really care about this unique project ;)

    .
I think I'll get 512 MB more, and if I can a faster and
newer HD with 16MB cache to see if it can perform
    slightly better. ;-)

I do agree with the previous posts too. I'm interested in BootX. It's one of the most awaited project for the Peg :) Go for it! We want OSX on our Peg! :)

MOSNet can wait indeed, as we already has a working version... and MOS2.0 has an own tcp/ip stack build in..

Please remember that currently OS X port project is a proof-of-concept. Success chance is high, however it still can fail.
Also i have long promised IEEE1394 stack which has little progress now, and i feel very ashamed about it. I want to get back to it too.

IMHO you should first Work on the IEEE1394 Stack and then take a deep look on that proof of concept BootX thingy. Cos MosNET is running well here on my Pegasos and with MOS2.0 coming soon TM. a TCP Stack will be included.

A two-hours project: Commodities Exchange ported from AROS. There's only Ambient's built-in Exchange at the moment, and i use ScalOS. So here is a nice useful little add-on.

    Hi Sonic,

MOSNet update, i think it's a priority. MOSNet 1.2 prevent some other programms working properly. For instance "OptiPNG", which shows endlessly bussy mousepointer when MOSNet is running too. There are more programms. it's a weird bug, i like to see that solved.

I just want to join to the previous posts: I agree, that the most important project of these is BootX. I think *a lot* of people would feel their Pegasos machine is a much more usable thing, if they would able to run OS X on it seriously (forget MacOnLinux - OS X is not usable without a fast graphics card).

(My personal opinion is that MOS lacks a lot of features (maybe 2.0 will be much better sometime) and programs, and Linux is not comfortable and fast enough to be a desktop operating system (for me it will always stay a low-end server OS), so OS X could help a lot.)
