    This morning when I turned on the Peg it wouldn't boot, I just saw some weird signs and colours on the top of the open firmware screen so I took the decision to reinstall MOS 1.4.5 and upgraded Trance, MUI to latest MUI4 beta and installed the latest Ambient Nightly build like I did yesterday when everything worked
    But aftert doing all of this it boots but I don't get past the MOS bootlogo :P
    i did a reinstall again and skipped the latest Ambient which let's me boot fully...I have also tried the Nightly Ambient from 070311 but got the same result.
    When I installed these Ambient versions I answered YES to all install questions which was "recommended" but that mkght be wrong?

    Seems like MOS+Peg's is a very sensitive affair ;) real Amiga's + AmikgaOS or MOS PowerUP is a breeze compared to this or maybe I just have bad luck, hehe

    Lol!

    I probably had some stuff in my s-s yesterday which acted as a "wait" command

    yeah, in order to make the poseidon update work correctly, I had to add "wait 1" before AND after it!

    That would be silly, wouldn't it? :) Wouldn't it be much better if the actual bug which is causing this is fixed in MorphOS 2.0? ;)

    Thanks

    Took me some time to get a Peg but after a guy here in Sweden offered his unused spare Peg II I couldn't refuse and also Keropi had an impact after teasing me with his Peg :-)

    There's nothing like a good Bud Spencer/Terence Hill movie 8-)

    upgraded Trance, MUI to latest MUI4 beta and installed the latest Ambient Nightly build

    It's a good thing to remember, that "the newest beta" most definitely doesn't equal "the most stabile version". If it works, fine. But especially some MUI and Ambient betas have been rather "problematic" in the past, but especially Ambient has improved a lot lately.

    Anyway the point is, be careful with betas. There's nothing wrong with testing them, as you can help author finding problems which might end up in later releases aswell, but it's a good idea to take a backup copy of your MorphOS system when it works nicely, so that you can easily go back, if something works badly.

    Also, if you have a massstorage USB device connected when booting, you can get the similar "stuck at boot screen" problem.

    perhaps it is not a bug. Perhaps more time is needed for the hardware to initialize. If that is the case a delay could be written into MorphOS code or handled this way, via adding "Wait 1" before IPrefs in MOSSYS:S/startup-sequence. Either works.

    I'd still prefer doing:
    while(IsHardwareNotInitialized));

    rather than
    Wait1SecondWhichJustSeemsToWorkInMostCases();
