I noticed that except amitradecenter , there is no other good ftp client (a GUI one) ... the latest 1.4 version , after a while refuses to work, and it hangs the whole system!
I used it to transfer 4GB from my windows-ftp, then it hanged and it never worked again, even afer reboot/reinstallation...

the previous beta one , ATC_beta_19012001.lha is working fine, but complains that there is no space on a hardisk that has 60gb free...
so , a really updated version would be nice...

I know there is samba/etc, but a true FTP client is more convenient and has more uses

The reason it hangs is because the Free space indicator is bugged (you will notice it reports completely wrong numbers) and crashes when the number wraps around a certain way (my guess is an overflow that nukes data on stack or otherwise trashes memory).

The only workaround I know of until this is fixed (which it probably never will as last I heard UltraGelb had abandoned ATC) is to download to another partition (or RAM) where the crash isn't triggered (yet (or never if your partition will always have less than 4GB free (it can have more than 4GB free, but when the overflow produces a sufficiently large number it will crash)))...

a bug like that could explain the prob...
I am now using the previous beta, that only shows wrongly the amount left on the target HD.... other than that the bars are correct and it works perfeclty...

amiFTP works quite good here on MOS.

an ATC fixed version would make me switch to it though.

Thanks for the tip with using drives less than 4gb free. Now I just
download to ram, and runs stable and fine. before crashed whole
    system!!

And update I would pay for aswell!!
