Hey all,
I'm trying to get an Apache (1.3.20) server on my MOS 1.4.5 machine to serve pages for all on the web.
I have Apache running and accessing http://localhost using IBrowse works fine (including CGI page generation, so the web server is really running).
I upgraded my Alcatel SpeedTouch Home to Pro a long time ago, and that works fine. Reading up on the Alcatel settings I need to put in to allow a web (or FTP) server on the local side to serve the web, I tried both suggested methods under NAT I could find: Forwarding only port 80 to the MOS web server, or setting my MOS web server's IP address as the defserver for all ports.
Neither seems to work when trying to access the fixed www IP address I have. Ping gives a reply, but my Apache logs do not show any access happening at all when trying to access the web page (or even telnet to port 80 of the fixed www IP address I have).
Do I have to make the Alcatel a bridge and get rid of the NAT in order for my MOS machine to become a web server, should I get something else than the Alcatel modem, or am I doing something else wrong?
How can I get my machine to become a web server behind the Alcatel SpeedTouch Pro?
