Did anyone read this on http://osnews.com?

AROS will be ported to the EFIKA. "Earlier this week John accepted the AROS EFIKA Port Bounty. Said another way, John will port Amiga Research Operating System to the EFIKA." In an email, BBRV also said MorphOS 2.0 is 'coming'. They promised more news on that soon.

    Greetings Tom

Yeah; if MorphOS 1.5 will be available in 1.5 more weeks then 2.0 will be available in 2.0 more weeks.

I'll believe it when I see it on the morphos-team.net

While I like osnews.com, it's a bit ropey reporting if they can only refer to a quote "in an email".

If the MOS-Team skips the magic 1.5 and jumps to 2.0 directly I'll eat my hat, take a naket bath (or with a Borat style beach wear) in the public fountains of the city and put on a face-mask of George W. Bush and wear it for a couple of days.

Whenever you're sad just remember the world is 4.543 billion years old and you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie.

well, what would be the difference between aros and mos on efika? i mean, afaik, mos uses lots of aros sources...

    bye, MarK.

ps: anyway, i am looking forward to mos either 1.5 or 2.0, i do not care about the numbering...

MOS has backwards compatibility with PPC & 68k amiga stuff, while AROS (afaik) doesn't.

question: what's the point of making aros for efika? Or any other non-x86 machine?

Isn't aros made to have os3 source compatibility on cheap x86? It doesn't have any new features like os4 and mos have, right?

So, what's the point? Better give that money into jit integration.

There was a bounty for anyone to pick, about having AROS running on the Efika. Someone did. That's all. There's no "point", actually. It's only that it can be done.

AFAIK there are people who will develop AROS and/or make their
programs for this OS, but only if AROS runs on PPC. Besides redundancy
is more than welcome here, I think. :)
