hi, just wondering if anyone has successfully installed pegxmac 2+osx on their hdd? I got as far as installing pegxmac on the hdd, then running the osx installer only to have it crash sometime during the install (after choosing the osx hdd partition). I am within the first 8gb of the hdd and it's OSX 10.2 (cdrom version)

I have same problem using MOLK 0.7 and OSX 10.4 (dvd version). Crashes at different points every time I try.
MOLK is installed on the MOS partition.

Hi, Its alot easier to just use an entire hdd i found. I have it running nicely using a secondary harddisk just for the macos system (PegXMac 2 booting from the pimary hdd). Also if this is your first time usin g u may wanna increase the sound buffer in molrc.sound to get the sound smooth.

I did not know that about the sound buffer. This has been an issue with MOL for some time now. When trying to use MAC sound apps I get sound probs. What do you suggest I set it to please?

I guess if some of you claim to use it, it must work then right :D

which versions of MacOS are you using? perhaps mine crashes due to version of MacOS rather than PegXMac?

    A known problem.
    Create partition before start installer.

You guys should really use MOLk. IMHO Its much better than Pegxmac (but I havent tried latest version)

I run Molk with osx 10.4 latest and its excellent. Usb works, even usb 2.0 from a pci card. Also, cd burning works and networking and sound (though could be better)

Anyone with recommendations how to improve sound for me please advise. I also have a SB live card around I can use as well to offload cpu time..

Did I understand you correct? Are you using SBlive card for sound output in MacOS under molk?

If you're using an SBlive card with OSX and molk then that's pretty spectacular! Macs and SBLive cards don't get along well-at all-in a real hardware Mac environment. There are Live drivers for OS 9 but they aren't real spectacular. Creative specifically goes out of their way to NOT support OS X. Dunno why that is :-( I guess that's why M-Audio's cards are so favored in Mac land. Just as well, they're much better cards in the sound output department anyway.

Has anyone tried the M-Audio sound cards with molk?

mol uses its own mol-audio driver - means audio is emulated, no matter which soundcard you use.
using a real audio chip (ie no ac97) anyway increases quality
    a lot and reduces cpu-usage.
there was some kind of "pci-card plugin" for mol which should
have let you use some real pci-cards with native mac os drivers -
no idea how useable it is/was though...
