I bought myself ATI Radeon 9250 in the store with DVI output, and then got perfect picture in 1680x1050. I dont know why the picture is stretched in vga mode though, or when it hits perfect picture it`s then to small.

    1680x1050x24.jpg

    Configuration as follow:

    Horisontal Timing:
    Resolution: 1680
    Sync Length: 400
    Pulse Offset: 8
    Pulse Length: 136
    Polarity: Positive

    Vertical Timing:
    Resolution: 1050
    Sync Length: 34
    Pulse Offset: 1
    Pulse Length: 4
    Polarity: Positive

This configuration is for DELL 22 Widescreen monitor, which got 1x vga and 1x dvi contact. Costs at the moment 4000,- at DELL store on www.dell.no

    Conclusion:
Widescreen mode at 1680x1050 dosent work as it should thru VGA. Why? I don`t know. So if you use MorphOS (I dont have PPClinux installed so dont know anything about it etc), I recommend to use DVI. The picture becomes crystal clear and it beats MacOSX on PowerBook 12" 1.5GHz (tested) in brightness and contrast!

Card type used for testing: ATI Radeon 9250 with DVI and ATI Radeon 9000 with only VGA.

So yes, MorphOS can be shown in widescreen!
